I fell in love with birds in high school and pursued my undergraduate degree in ecology and evolutionary biology at Cornell University in 2017. I am an ornithologist and a conservation scientist first, but I'm passionate about anything in nature and love sharing that wonder. Starting fall 2020, I began a PhD examining the interactions between grassland birds and prairie dogs, as part of Holly Jones's Evidence-based Restoration Lab at Northern Illinois University. My overarching goal is to use research, conservation, and environmental education to prevent extinctions and maintain ecosystems, helping to create a sustainable future for biodiversity and humanity alike in the midst of the Anthropocene. Sharing knowledge, passion, and discoveries about the natural world, especially with underprivileged communities and folks at the forefront of conservation efforts, is integral to my mission.
